Are There Really Homeless People In Saratoga?

Monday, November 15th, 2010

Spoiler Alert: Yes, there are obviously homeless people in Saratoga. Go ahead and file this event under “Stuff Outside of Skidmore You Should Concern Yourself With.”

As part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Event join a fleet of local homeless activists and outreach workers for a discussion about the homelessness and poverty in the area. The suburban, or I guess more ex-urban, homelessness that we can see in Saratoga seems to be an entirely different animal than urban homelessness and this talk appears to be headed by a pretty reputable team of experts:

John Pelzer – Executive director Shelters of Saratoga
Andy Gilpin – Director of program Services CAPTAIN Youth and Family Services
Dawn Howk – Homeless Liaison Ballston Spa School District
Diane Davis – Interim Homeless Education Liaison Saratoga Springs School District
