This Friday in Case the Skidmore Student Market returns. Remember how cool this was when it was nice out? Well, it’s not going to be nice out but the market promises to be a good time. Come out and support the crafts of your fellow students, or commandeer a table with your own wares. It’s the perfect opportunity to buy holiday gifts or make some extra spending cash to spend at Walmart.

Even SkidmoreUnofficial might be selling posters (limited edition) to the adoring masses. There’s no better way to celebrate the end of the classes and to get in the holiday spirit then spending money.

Plus, our favorite folk band, Bailiwick will be leading everyone in secular sing-a-longs and selling their new CD.

did you know the Skidshop is on twitter? all the cool kids are doing it.

Oh shit, I’ve been so busy thinking about the similar capitalist critiques in Bertold Brecht’s Threepenny Opera and John Gay’s Beggar’s Opera* that I’ve forgotten to purchase selfless holiday gifts for my parents and those girls from high school I still want to impress. Thank God the SkidShop is bringing in some “expert shoppers” tomorrow afternoon. I always trust experts.

Free Expensive Stuff

I’m not sure how many of you spend your evenings checking the Skidmore Shop blog, but if you do you may have noticed that their blogger-in-residence has been playing hype man for some big event at the store on December 10th. From what my low level journalism skills gathered the shop is going to give away a free Macbook laptop and have some sort of mind blowing sale. And according to today’s update over at skidmoreshop.blogspot.com I was correct.

Today’s update explains that The Shop is going to be raffling off one black Macbook at 5pm tomorrow in the Spa. In addition to kindly throwing their most expensive overstock to the masses, the store will be having a Holiday sale with some sort of mythical “Wheel of Discount.” So tomorrow make your way over to the Skidmore Shop and spend some of your parents money on gifts for you parents. We just hope no one gets trampled.
