Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

Hayat, Lively Lucy’s, Speakers Bureau and SkidmoreUnofficial’s self proclaimed Ethnic Correspondent Thiviya Navaratnam bring us the delightful Brownstar Revolution at Falstaff’s this Thursday at 8pm.

Brownstar is a spoken word duo aiming to spark conversation about the South Asian-American community through comedy, personal memoir, and science fiction. If you’re confused about what all of that means you should look them up on YouTube, if you’re not there Thursday night Thivya thinks you’re racist.

Ramadan Dinner

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Go and break the Ramadan fast with Hayat, Skidmore’s Muslim culture club. Hayat is sponsoring a Ramadan dinner tomorrow night at Falstaff’s at 7pm. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar, and a time to fast. During Ramadan Muslims concentrate on their faith and spend less time on the concerns of their everyday lives. It is a time of spiritual reflection, contemplation, prayer, doing good deeds and spending time with family and friends. Hayat will celebrate and break the fast during the Ramadan dinner.
