Academic Affairs Has Open House?

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

Some of the top administrators at Skidmore – Susan Kress, Beau Breslin, and Paty Rubio – have decided to open their doors every Wednesday between 4:00 and 5:00 to the entire campus, in case anybody has some beef or compliments that need airing. It it nice to see more of these important folk following in the footsteps of our good President Philip A. Glotzbach [first Glotzy post of the semester??], who is famous for both his Bill Hader likeness and Fireside Chats in the D-hall.

They are thoughtful enough to be offering coffee and tea, too, so hit that up.

Presidential Fireside Chat Tomorrow 5:30pm

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Tomorrow President Glotzbach will host the first “fireside chat” of the semester. Students looking to have a tête-à-tête with the Glotz can find him and his lovely wife Marie by the fireplace in the Murray-Aikins Atrium on Wednesday, September 30, at any time from 5:30 to 6:30pm.

This is a great time to talk freely with Glotzbach about the new rules in Scribner regarding band practice and the culling of the taxi Ride Safe program. This is also your best opportunity to touch his silvery locks.

Tête-à-Tête: A Evening With The Glotzbachs

Monday, April 6th, 2009

President Glotzbach and Marie Glotzbach invite you to one of their famous fireside chats tomorrow (4/7) in the Atrium of the Dining Hall. The informal discussion is scheduled form 5-6pm and is the perfect opportunity to get a little face time with the guy upstairs.

There is no better opportunity to talk to El Presidente about the college’s course of action in the face of overwhelming economic pessimism, a 23% loss in the endowment and an applicant pool that is 14% smaller than last year’s–or maybe you guys could just talk about how the Mets beat the Reds. Whatever.

Fireside Chat With The Glotzbachs

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Didn’t have the opportunity to attend Glotzbach’s state of the college addresses? You’re in luck. Tuesday (11/11) from 5:30 to 6:30pm students are invited to stop by the D-Hall atrium and have a little FDR-esque fireside chat with the Boss and Skidmore’s first lady, Marie Glotzbach.

While I’m sure the economy will be a hot topic, students shouldn’t ignore issues like campus diversity, environmental sustainability goals, future housing options, measures to increase student involvement in the running of campus, and how cold it is going to be this winter.

We’ll try to stop by, but we would love anyone attending to “Holla Back” at us with their questions and answers.
