Fight Week

Monday, April 8th, 2013

Skidmore’s conflict resolution club, FIGHTClub, has organized a whole bunch of events as part of their annual Fight Week. The week is vaguely 60s themed, which is kind of ironic because I don’t really associate “conflict resolution” with that decade. College students being gunned down, Vietnamese people being burned alive, and black people getting the shit beaten out of them, certainly, but not conflict resolution.

Here’s the full schedule:

  • Tuesday April 9, 8pm @ Spa: Fight Club Screening/Free Chipotle
  • Wednesday April 10, 8pm @ Case Green: Glow-in-the-dark Capture the Flag
  • Thursday April 11, 8pm @ Spa: “The Friend Zone Game”
  • Friday April 12, 10pm @ Tang Roof: Screamfest/60s Party

Given the hotheaded shit going on in the post below, this all seems particularly relevant (also, free food).

When I first heard about this event I thought it was going to be some pugilistic, mixed martial arts shit but it turns out that FIGHTclub is all about conflict resolution and avoiding fights, a far cry from the expected Peabody’s brawl. Well played.

Anyhoo, FIGHTClub is hosting all sorts of events all week for you to enjoy. If you and your roommates are fighting about who keeps double dipping into the peanut butter you should maybe show up and work out some tension or something. A full list of the week’s events is available after the jump or on thefacebook.
