Dizzy Peoples Improv Cage Match

Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

You guys look like you could use a few good laughs. They say laughter is the best medicine and with the current state of things I could probably swallow an entire pharmacy of laughter. Lucky for us, Dizzy Peoples is hosting an Improv Comedy Cage Match at Caffe Lena this Wednesday, April 27th at 7pm.

I’m not exactly sure how an Improv Comedy Cage Match works but I assume members of Dizzy Peoples, The Ad-Libs, The Sketchies, Skidomedy and other, as-of-yet comedically irrelevant peoples will be smashing chairs over each others’ heads and wearing body paint.

Skidmore Student VIP price is 2 bucks but I can guarantee you’ll see an aggressive, sternum-crushing side of Max Resnick you’ve never seen before.

Alex, Chris and Anthony Improvise Funny Words And Actions

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

Improv comedy is the hip, urban, second cousin of sketch comedy. It is like free-style rapping and therefore really cool. All the cool kids are doing it and one day it is going to make them millions of dollars.

Tonight at 10pm in JKB’s Studio B Alex Dayan ’11, Anthony Bentrovato ’11 and Chris Iredale ’11 of Dizzy Peoples fame will be showing all you motherfuckers how it is done. They are going to smash and bang it all the way to Shanghai and back. They are going to improvise the shit out of everything and serve you laughter on a silver platter. Show up and absorb their coolness before they graduate, move to LA and ‘make it.’

Gawker Picks Up Dizzy Peoples, Further Rockets Skidmore Up The Internet Totem Pole

Saturday, March 5th, 2011

Gawker.TV picked up the new sketch from Skidmore’s own Dizzy Peoples Comedy and just like that Skidmore College gets bumped closer towards the popular kids table in the middle school cafeteria that is the internet.

Skidmore wins by association but the obvious champions here are the folks behind Dizzy Peoples who should undoubtedly be getting laid 24/7.  Friend them all on facebook immediately so it will be easier to stalk them once they become celebrities.

Alex and Chris are both from Class of 2011, both half of Dizzy Peoples, both half of College is HARD and both maybe related to each other.

Dizzy Peoples ComFest Documentary

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

ComFest happened this week and although I did meet some Bates kids that claimed to be comedians I mostly missed it. Sucks to be me.

Anyway, the Dizzy Peoples crew made this hilarious documentary chronicling the festival’s history and offering a brief glimpse into its future that you should look at and laugh at.

New Sketches From Dizzy Peoples

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

Over break I read a Jonathan Franzen novel and watched a bunch of the new Oprah Channel, it seems that the masterminds behind Dizzy Peoples Comedy used their time a bit more effectively.

Anthony Bentrovato, Alex Dayan, Chris Iredale, Giancarlo Osaben, and Max Resnik (all 2011) have released four new sketches for our enjoyment. First watch “They Were Dead The Whole Time” above and then take the next couple of minutes to watch the rest of their new funnies and maybe friend them on thefacebook. They will repay you with beautiful smiles and effortlessly cool waves when they see you around campus.

These handsome men used to write, direct and star in a sitcom and then they were like “Ok, we’ve mastered this discipline. Time to move on,” so they started Dizzy Peoples.

Sketch Comedy hijinks. No sitcom funny-business. Featuring Leland Martin and special guests.

Anthony Bentrovato ’11, Alex Dayan ’11, Chris Iredale ’11, Giancarlo Osaben ’11, and Max Resnik ’11, the internet superstars behind projects like College is HARD and 3 Jokes A Day, are back with a new name and some new videos and a new outlook on life. Above you’ll find the first Dizzy Peoples video of the semester but we suggest you check out their work from over the summer, particularly this video.
