CFSGR Presents: ConsentFest!

Wednesday, October 1st, 2014
Lot of consensual banging going on in that tent, I'm guessing!

Whole lot of consensual banging going on in that tent, I’m guessing.

Do you believe that the importance of effective consent should be at the forefront of our cultural consciousness, or are you a complete shit-head?

If you answered that first question with a resounding “Yes,” then that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to go to ConsentFest tomorrow night or anything. I know you’re probably busy, and you can spend your Thursday as you please. I just wanted to establish that you shouldn’t be a complete shit-head.

That being said, tomorrow night in the Spa, the Center for Sex and Gender Relations (in addition to the 15-plus clubs that are co-sponsoring) will be presenting ConsentFest, a “consent-based carnival”  featuring club performances, games, and raffles–all of which I’m assuming will have some sort of thematic tie to consent. The event starts at 8:00pm, but it seems like an open-house affair, so you should swing by at any point.

Also, given the unfortunate events that transpired earlier today, I figured it’d be as good a space as any to say that the CFSGR is a great resource filled with great people who’d be more than happy to answer any questions regarding consent, sexual-misconduct, or issues of gender and sexuality in general. Be sure to check our their website or Facebook page to learn more!
