SNOWBALL FIGHT!!!

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009
Good Ol Fashioned Fun

Good Ol' Fashioned Fun

Remember two years ago when god looked down upon our tiny campus of adultery and marijuana smoking and attempted to smite us with a blackout. Remember how we shook our fists at god and turned his blackout into the most epic snowball fight in the entire history of the world?

Remember how out of nowhere there were Tallboys of Bud Heavy everywhere and how your friend pulled a joint out of his pocket and all of a sudden all your homework disappeared behind a curtain of falling snowballs? Remember how fun it was to make and break alliances at whim? Remember when me and all my hipster friends totally won the snowball fight against the jocks just like in the movies? YEAH?

Well the Outing Club wants to do that again. 8pm. Case Green.

Prudes At Make-A-Wish Reject Charity, Possibly Crazy

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009
Skidmore Spur On NBC Local News

It seems that despite Skidmore’s best efforts, wishes will go unanswered this holiday season. In a surprisingly priggish move, the upstanding citizens1 at Make-A-Wish foundation have rejected the Skidmore Photography Club’s donation of the profits from the Skidmore Spur Calendar, explaining that it would be “inappropriate” for them to accept the contribution.

The calendar, which features semi-nude Skidmore students in barely risque poses, was expected to raise as much as 5,000 dollars. The Photography Club is already looking for a replacement charity—one that will hopefully be more interested in helping people than pretending genitals don’t exist.

Just a word of advice for the Make-A-Wish Foundation: if a bunch of college students want to give you a bunch of money you should accept, even if they showed some pubic hair to get it.

1Dear Old People, I’m using this in the most pejorative sense.

Sexiled Episode Three

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Earlier tonight episode 3 of Sexiled premiered in Davis but a lot of us were academically martyring ourselves in the library and couldn’t make it. Thankfully those tech wizards threw that shit online faster than you can say procrastination. The YouTube.com playlist is right here.

Anillo Junior Es Esta Noche

Saturday, December 5th, 2009
Dont skimp on the tie gentlemen, this isnt middle school

Don't skimp on the tie gentlemen, this isn't middle school

Tonight is Junior Ring and you know what that means? Keystones and expensive clothes.

The whole shebang kicks off at 10pm and hopefully y’ll heeded my advice and bought your tickets beforehand or you’re going to look like the BIGGEST FUCKING IDIOT ON CAMPUS when you have to pay 5 dollars at the door.

Just a quick reminder, everyone at this dance will have a bed within walking distance, there is no reason for you two to shack-up behind the curtains. People keep their coats back there and nobody wants to pay for dry cleaning. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do and I’m sure you’ll be fine.

SBC’s Nutcracker Open Dress Rehearsal

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

Tickets for all shows of The Saratoga City Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker are now sold out. But don’t get too down on yourself for being a lazy slob that can barely remember to call a number and reserve some tickets because SBC’s Julie Gedalecia writes in with some good news:

Missed out on tickets? There may be surrendered tickets at the box office the day of the show. Please check all show times for last available tickets. No guarantees. We will be opening dress rehearsal to the public for a reduced price. All seats are general admission. Tickets are first come first served. This is a working rehearsal and there may be stops and starts in the program. A professional photographer will also be in and around the audience.

If you were looking to turn the night into a romantic evening but foolishly failed to reserve tickets leaving you in quite the bind with your significant other I wish you the best of luck.

Thursday, December 17 @ 6:00 pm
Tickets (sold at door only):
Adults/Seniors/Students: $10
Children 10 and under: $5

OH SHIT, I FORGOT ABOUT JUNIOR RING

Seton Catholic High Schools Junior Ring Dance 2008 (Nothing Like Ours)

Seton Catholic High School's Junior Ring Dance 2008 (Nothing Like Ours)

Saturday night is Junior Ring and if you’re going I suggest buying yourself a ticket tomorrow before 2pm. After that you’re going to be stuck looking like a scrub and paying 5 dollars at the door.

The dance starts at 10pm so I assume you’ll all be imbibing beforehand but if you find yourself wanting a refreshing brew from the dance’s beer garden make sure you have both your state issued ID and a campus event card.

For a full schedule of Junior Ring Weekend events peep da myspace!!!

Yacub and some other master drummer straight vibing

Yacub and some other master drummer straight vibing

Students in Yacub Addy’s West African Hand Drumming classes have their final recital tonight at 7pm in The Tang.  A trustworthy inside source tells me that it is going to be “the best mother fucking time you’ve had in a while.” In addition he promised to play so hard he “pops a blood blister” so yeah.
