Ever end up downtown at night and forget your wallet because all you ever do is carry around your SkidID? Well that happened to me last night. And when that usually means I’d be begging for money, now the ristorante Forno Bistro has it all taken care of. Yes, they’ve added themselves to the ranks of “Off Campus Merchants” that accept the Skid Card. Ahh, convenience is good.
To introduce their new payment plan, today through Thursday the Forno Bistro will be offering $8 pizza & beer. Also, it’s really close. Just check the map if you don’t believe me.
fBook: We will be presenting our 2009 Project for Peace in Guatemala and screening “Born into Brothels”, the story of a woman who teaches photography to children from the Red Light District in Calcutta, India.

The Second Annual Skidmore Film Festival is still accepting student entries, head over to their website for more information about requirements and a submission form. This year’s festival is a three-day event running next Thursday through Saturday (3/26-3/28) featuring both student and critically acclaimed films, a chance to interact with the directors, and a student competition. Admission is free and open to the public.
We’ll have some more information and a schedule as things get closer.
Sometimes Skidmore feels like a crime free bubble; I leave my laptop unattended in the library, I haven’t locked my door in weeks, and my bicycle goes unchained. While this little fantasyland of integrity is ok, I let out a sigh of relief this morning when I read this email from Campus Safety:
Just when I thought I was living in some sort of suffocating pleasantville someone went out and did something perfectly normal (albeit skeevy). Thank god for petty crime for bringing us all back to the real world.

Scope Online has posted a (very) short Q&A with Ian Berry, Malloy Curator at the Tang Museum and member of the Museum Tang Clan. While it may not be as good, or as long or, as funny as last night’s Q&A with Ian Mackaye it is worth checking out if you have any interest in curation or this weekend’s YES Symposium.
Okay, I took a peek at some of Scope Q&As and they are actually pretty cool–at least for a Thursday afternoon. Check the rest out here.
