Like all good little boys I used to dutifully accompany my Grandmother to the ballet each holiday season, a tradition I plan on reviving this year, albeit with less fidgeting rudely in my seat. The Saratoga City Ballet Company will be performing its 17th annual production of “The Nutcracker” Dec. 18 through 20 at the Dance Theater. The holiday favorite will be danced by SCB company members and younger students from the Saratoga City Ballet School.

Aside from being tantalizingly mature and snobbish the show is sure to impress, William Otto, a teacher at the school and a former soloist with the New York City Ballet, will perform as Herr Drosselmeyer.
