This year’s McCormack Visiting Artist-Scholar will be artist, choreographer, dancer, theater director and writer Bill T. Jones. Jones and members of his company will be on campus October 25-29.
Jones is perhaps most famous for choreographing the hit Broadway musical Spring Awakening, a work for which he received a Tony Award in 2007. Jones delivered his keynote speech this evening at 8pm and will be on campus offering selected intermediate and advanced classes in dance technique, improvisation, dance history, and choreography through Thursday. The classes are for students only but will be open to the public for observation. See a full schedule of events here.
Jones has been on campus previously for summer residencies in 1992, 1998, and 2007 and to receive an honorary degree in 2008.
