GRIZZLY BEAR SEPTEMBER TWENTY FIFTH

Written by Executive Editor on July 22nd, 2009

Everyone’s favorite band Grizzly Bear is slated to headline SEC’s fall semester Big Show scheduled for  September 25th.  Grizzly Bear is a fantastic snag for Skidmore; the band was recently rocketed to stardom after their most recent album—Veckatimest—made its way to the Billboard Top 100 albums chart after previous independent success.  The Brooklyn-based foursome is known for their beautifully creepy harmonies and intricate instrumental arrangements and stand in sharp contrast to previous Big Show headliners like Ghostface Killah and Girl Talk. Openers for the show are as-of-yet unnamed but apparently the recessionistas as SEC scored Grizzly Bear “mad cheap” and have some wiggle room when it comes to hiring.

I would love if just one time we got something other than indie hipster crap

What other big shoe has been “indie hipster?” it’s all been hip hop and girl talk. These catchwords people use to describe great bands are fucking ridiculous…
