Memoir and Essay: A Conference on Non-Fiction

Written by Executive Editor on January 28th, 2009

This Thursday students will have the unique opportunity to attend a panel discussion populated by a fantastic selection of non-fiction writers. Honor Moore, Katha Pollitt, Darryl Pinckney and Phillip Lopate will discuss issues pertaining to the craft of writing non-fiction prose from their respective experience in a discussion moderated by members of the English Department. The critics on the panel are active writers published in: among others, Harper’s Magazine, The New Yorker,  The Nation, The New York Review Of Books and countless literary reviews. An event like this also offers a glimpse into the daily routine during the New York State Summer Writers Institute operating on campus during the summer. The discussion begins Thursday (1/29) at 7pm in Gannett Auditorium and is open to the public.
