Poet Andrea Gibson Performing @ Spa, 7pm

Written by Executive Editor on March 19th, 2014

Andrea Gibson is an award-winning poet and activist who has focused her work on debunking gender roles, promoting LGBTQ empowerment, and discussing class privilege, as well as many more vitally significant and underrepresented social justice-related topics. She’s a force, and as her bio reads, she’s “not gentle with her truths.” She’s the first winner of the Women’s World Poetry Slam, an all female slam poetry competition that debuted in 2008. She has toured the world, recorded an album, and is going to be here, at Case Center, today at 7pm to slam poems at you. She’ll also be at Emerson Auditorium from 3-4pm giving a workshop on social justice and spoken word poetry.

Oh, and because mexican food and poetry go hand in hand, Chipotle will be catering the event in Case. Be there.
