March for Trayvon Martin

Written by Bruce on April 11th, 2012

I bet that Gawker and Reddit and whatever else you smartphoning youth read for your ‘news’ has covered this story, so I hope you’ll spare me the recap of this tragic, backwards story. Instead, I’ll point you towards what’s happening in response to it.

This coming Wednesday – Friday, April 11th-13th, from 11-4pm United Minds will be in Case Center conducting interviews and taking photographs to include in a short film documenting Skidmore students, faculty, and staff opinions reactions to Trayvon Martin and other issues surrounding police brutality and racial inequality.

THEN, join United Minds on Friday April 13th for a Skidmore-wide HOODIE DAY and VIGIL as we honor the memory of Trayvon Martin and all those killed unjustly. Wear your hoodie all day and then join us on the Case Green at 5:30pm for the vigil including a short spoken word performance by Kali Block-Steele.
